We want to give you pure water. And for health and wellness, if we were to recommend only one water treatment system, it would be the reverse osmosis drinking water system. This system is ultrafiltration for the drinking water, the water you’re ingesting, taking into your body, and as is being assimilated into all of your cells. Your skin can be an effective barrier for keeping out the majority of the contaminants when showering or bathing. A reverse osmosis system installed by CWS will remove virtually all the contaminants, including PFAS (PFOS & PFOA), from the drinking, cooking, coffee, tea water, and fridge water (as long as it is logistically possible), which makes this the most important water filter from a health and wellness standpoint.
While our point of use (POU) are the most popular system we install, we also install whole house reverse osmosis systems. Click here to learn more.
Why reverse osmosis with Certified Water Services?
-
- Five stages of filtration, plus a post limestone filter: In response to the rising use of disinfectants in public water (chlorine and chloramines) we stepped up our systems to a 5 stage system.
The stages are:- Pre-membrane sediment filter: 5 micron sediment filter to remove large particles of sediment, dirt, rust, sand, as well as other crud from the water.
- Pre-membrane granular activated carbon (GAC): for the purpose of removing chlorine, taste, odor, radon, as well as many other contaminants.
- Pre-membrane CTO carbon block: for the purpose of removing chloramines, VOCs like benzene, MTBE, PCE, toulene, as well as many other contaminants.
- The MEMBRANE. This is the workhorse of the system and by using size exclusion filtration this will remove 90-98% of all of the contaminants in the water.
- Post membrane carbon: for the purpose of removing any possible taste and odor from the water.
- CWS bonus stage, post limestone mineralization filter: After the first 5 stages the water will be virtually free of any total dissolved solids, including the buffering agents, and subsequently have an acidic pH of 5-6. Because some customers (as well as their canine and feline family members) have experienced stomach issues drinking the acidic RO water, we now include a post limestone mineral filter to raise the pH back up to a neutral level and remineralize the water with calcium.
- WQA Gold Seal Certification: This is the highest accolade a reverse osmosis can achieve. This certification is only given to a select group of ROs. This certification assures that the RO has gone through material safety checks, will not fail or leak under normal conditions, meets the reduction claims made, does not make false or misleading claims, and has gone through rigorous quality control and quality assurance tests.
- Exceptional installation, expertise, maintenance, & customer services by Certified Water Services: Have your RO Installed, maintained, and backed by Certified Water Services, a family owned company that has been doing water treatment, testing, and purification for over 25 years.
- Five stages of filtration, plus a post limestone filter: In response to the rising use of disinfectants in public water (chlorine and chloramines) we stepped up our systems to a 5 stage system.
The Many Uses of Reverse Osmosis Water:
- Drinking Water: According to the The Mayo Clinic’s webpage, it is recommended “that an adequate intake (AI) for men is roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day. The AI for women is 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day.” Water is your body’s principal component, and it “flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.”
- Cooking: tap water has chlorine, several chemical additives, mineral salts, and organic impurities that will interfere with the natural flavors of most anything being cooked in it.
- Juices and Mixes: The directions say “just add water.” Why add all the other impurities that go with it?
- Coffee and Tea: Coffee and Tea are over 98% water. Chlorine, contaminants, and impurities will interfere with the true taste of the beverage. Your RO will allow the true essence of your brew to come through. RO water will also stop the scaling from building up in your coffee machines, Keurigs, and tea kettles.
- Ice Cubes: Is your ice cloudy? We’ll hook up your RO to your refrigerator. Expect clearer ice, that will not spoil the flavor of beverages as it melts!
- Baby Formulas: Infants are especially suspectable to MTBE, nitrates, and lead, even in the the smallest amounts.
- Humidifiers: Reverse Osmosis water is far superior to tap water in humidifiers. All the impurities in water will be left behind in the humidifier causing it to be inefficient, energy wasting, and finally self destruct.
- Aquariums/Pet Water: Fish and Pets appreciate clean water too!
Reverse Osmosis drinking water filters are recommended for all residences in the Bucks, Philadelphia, and Montgomery County region as clean drinking water can’t be taken for granted, especially if you have well water (no agencies test the quality of your well water).
Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Systems vs Common Carbon Filters Table
Many people know that it is not the best practice to drink unfiltered tap water because of the health risk associated with the consumption of contaminants, which sparks them to invest in a refrigerator with a water filter or a POU carbon filter (think Brita or Pur). Any filter is better than no filter, but how do POU carbon filters compare to a reverse Osmosis System? Certified Water Services made the following chart to outline the differences:
Comparing by contaminant removal: Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Systems vs Common Carbon Filters
